Tomáš Kořínek studied voice at the Brno Conservatory and Janáček Academy of Music. While still a student, he was a guest of the Theatre in Pilsen, where since 2004 he has been permanently engaged. He has won awards at competitions both at home and abroad and in 2004 was on the Thalia Award shortlist for his portrayal of the role of Pedrillo in Mozart’s Die Entführung as dem Serail at the Theatre in Pilsen. In the previous theatre season, besides roles at his home theatre, he sang to great acclaim, for example, Don Ottavio (Mozart: Don Giovanni) and Count Almaviva (Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia) at the National Theatre in Brno, where he has also appeared as a guest in the role of Tamino (Mozart: Die Zauberflöte). Other noteworthy artistic activities include performing the role of Ferrando (Mozart: Cosi fan tutte) with the Prague Philharmonia under the baton of Jiří Bělohlávek, the debut with Janáček’s song cycle Diary of One Who Disappeared at Opera Bastille in Paris, the concert version of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with the State Philharmonic Orchestra Brno (conductor: Caspar Richter), the concert version of Beethoven’s Fidelio with the North Bohemia Philharmonic Orchestra Teplice (conductor: Pavel Šnajdr) and the performance within the 2007 Smetana’s Litomyšl International Opera Festival in the semi-scenic version of Bohuslav Martinů’s cantata The Bouquet of Flowers with the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra from Zlín. Tomáš Kořínek has appeared also as a guest at the National Theatre in Prague in the role of Janek (Janáček: The Makropulos Affair), in Brno (for example, in Diary of One Who Disappeared) and the State Opera Prague (Così fan tutte). Tomáš Kořínek is one of the most sought-after interpreters of Baroque music (collaboration with the ensembles Musica Florea, Collegium 1704). His repertoire includes grand works by J. S. Bach and G. F. Händel too.
