Martina Venc Matušínská

The flutist Martina Venc Matušínská graduated from the Ostrava Conservatory (1983-1987) and subsequently from the Brno JAMU (1987-1992). In 1991 she became a solo flutist with the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra, in which she still works today. In addition to orchestral activities, she is also involved in chamber music, she collaborates with a number of Czech chamber ensembles but is also far from folklore, she is a member of the Brno Radio Orchestra of Folk Instruments (Broln). She has performed at many international music festivals, recorded for the Radio Pastoral Concert of Joaquin Rodrigo, Sonatas for Flute and Piano, and is involved in many music projects. During her artistic career in Brno, she gave concerts not only on European stages, but also in Japan, Uruguay, Argentina, South Korea, South America, Oman, Australia and New Zealand. As a soloist, she has performed and has in her repertoire a number of important Baroque flute works (Bach, Handel, Telemann, Vivaldi), classical (Quantz, Fils, Boccherini, Mozart) and works by masters of the 20th century. (Ibert, Debussy, Poulenc, Fauré, Messiaen, Borne, Martinů, Feld, Petrassi, Rodrigo – premiered his Pastoral Concert in Brno in April 2005) and subsequently recorded it for Czech Radio accompanied by the Brno Philharmonic under the baton of Petr Altrichter. Throughout his active playing career, he has also devoted himself to teaching.
