Alena Sasínová – Polarczyk (1959, Rožnov pod Radhoštěm) is one of the most mature and experienced actors and most valuable human resource of the Komorní scéna Aréna. She graduated in a six-year field of musical drama at the State Conservatory in Ostrava where she took classes from Dagmar Veselá. At first she enjoyed the dulcimer music of Javořina and the amateur theater ensemble in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, then she was also participated in poetic ensemble „Rýma“ at grammar school in Rýmařov. Her professional career began at the Těšín theater in Český Těšín (1978 – 1991) and continues in the Ostrava theaters. First in the Moravian-Silesian National Theater (1991 – 1994), then in the Petr Bezruč Theater (1994 – 2007) and currently in the Komorní scéna Aréna. Beside of drama, she has also performed in the Moravian-Silesian National Theater in the operetta (Hledám děvče na boogie-woogie, Řek Zorba) and in the opera (Lancelot and Kominíček). She was nominated for the Thalia Award 2007 for extraordinary drama performance for the role of Irina Arkadin in Chekhov’s Rack and for the Thalia Award 2011 for the role of Mrs. Snelgrav in the production Blecha. For the role called „She“ in the production S nadějí, i bez ní, she was nominated for the Thalia Awards, among the 10 best performances of the year. However, for this role she received the Czech Theater Award and a “silver” prize in the Alfred Radok Awards, and was nominated for the role of Josefa Slánská in the radio version of the play S nadějí, i bez ní, for the Invisible Actor award on Czech Radio. Her voice can be heard in dubbing and commantaries. Her collaboration with radio is also abundant. In the past, she has made several television and film casts (Odsouzen k životu, Svěrací kazajka, Vrhači nožů, Zuzana a Emílie, Bludiště, Píseň o lítosti, Erotický triptych, Arrowsmith, Kdes byla dnes v noci, miláčku?; Čerte, drž se svého kopyta! Sluneční stát, Kobova garáž, Podvraťáci, Kozy léčí) also starred in series (O ztracené lásce, Strážci duší, Vodáci, Hříšní lidé města brněnského). Her collaboration on music programs is also highly valued (Setkání pod lucernou, moderování pořadů Kdyby ty muziky nebyly a Kavárnička dříve narozených). She recently starred in Stockholm Syndrome, in the horror movie Ruchot Raoth, and in Edge of Break she scares viewers as a psychopathic mother. On the contrary, as a cleaning lady in sKORO NA mizině, she won the hearts not only of wachers, but also of saleswoman in Billa market, where she goes shopping. She has been a member of the KSA ensemble since 2007.
