“Katta moans, whispers, storms and caresses. The colours she creates with her voice and the fresh sound of her organ seem as if they were not of this planet.” (Gramophone Magazine)

“She is a unique artist.” (American organist Cameron Carpenter)

“The prima donna assoluta of organ performance.” (Opera Slovakia)

“An elemental, extroverted musician who commands her instrument with complete authority.” (Petr Veber)

Organist and composer Katta has gained international recognition in the world of classical music as an organ virtuoso and harpsichordist. Among organists, however, she is something of an exception: she composes her own original works, often incorporating her voice, opening up new sonic worlds and demonstrating how the organ can sound in the 21st century.

Her recording Veni Sancte Spiritus (Supraphon, 2016) was widely acclaimed. The British magazine Gramophone noted the “beautifully incisive articulation” with which Katta sings and highlighted the “raw, soulful intensity” of her playing. In 2018, Katta received the Classic Prague Awards for her original project Vox Organi.

As a classical organist and harpsichordist, Katta has attracted international attention through performances with orchestras such as Anima Eterna (with conductor Jos van Immerseel), the Zurich Chamber Orchestra (under the baton of Sir Roger Norrington), the Royal Flemish Philharmonic, the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK, and the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, as well as through solo organ recitals around the world in Europe, Mexico and Indonesia. She has appeared at numerous international festivals (Festival Mexico, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Prague Spring, Strings of Autumn, among others) and has performed in some of Europe’s most important cathedrals, including St Paul’s Cathedral in London and the Stephansdom in Passau.

Katta enjoys artistic fusions and collaborations with other musicians. She has worked, for example, with the extravagant American organist Cameron Carpenter, British violinist Daniel Hope, Czech rock musician David Koller, and Jiří Pavlica & Hradišťan. She also performed at the Norwegian multi-genre festival Olavsfest with her own project immediately following a concert by the singer Björk.
