Lucie Karafiátová sang for nearly sixteen years with Kantiléna, the children’s and youth choir of the Brno Philharmonic. Since 2011, she has performed as a soloist on concert stages, focusing primarily on the interpretation of early music. Her long-term vocal mentor is Andreas Scholl. She has participated in masterclasses with prominent figures of early music, including Robin Tyson, Marta Infante, Jakub Burzyński, and Jean-François Lombard.
She is a permanent member and soloist of The Czech Ensemble Baroque under the direction of Roman Válek, with whom she appears not only in concerts but also in numerous operatic and staged productions, such as Henry Purcell’s King Arthur (2011), J. P. Rameau’s Platée (2014), Handel’s oratorio Saul (2019), and many others.
Since 2013, she has regularly collaborated with Collegium 1704 under the direction of Václav Luks, performing both in the Czech Republic and abroad. She also works frequently with ensembles such as L’armonia Terrena (led by Zdeněk Klauda), Capella Ornamentata, Czech Virtuosi, Societas Incognitorum, and, since 2020, Collegium Marianum.
Together with sopranos Markéta Klaudová and Pavla Radostová, she is a permanent member of the vocal trio Drei Engel. The ensemble performs at prestigious Czech concert venues and presents lesser-known repertoire for three female voices, a cappella or with basso continuo accompaniment.
