Magdalena Rovenská began her singing studies with Jiřina Marková-Krystlíková and Anna Vršínská. Since 2014, she has been working in the ensemble Children’s Opera Prague, where she performed in the role of the First and the Second wood sprite in Dvořák’s Rusalka and in the role of Pepi in Hans Krása’s Brundibár, as Sophie in Benjamin Britten’s opera The Chimney Sweeper, and as Fox, Sleeping Beauty, Queen and Evil Judge in the project Miniopera by Jaroslav Uhlíř and Zdeněk Svěrák performed on the New Stage of the National Theatre in Prague. In 2016, she made her debut at the international music festival Musical Summer in Jezier in the role of the Maid and the Witch in the opera Faust by Luis Spohr.
From 2019 to 2022 she studied at the Church Conservatory of the German Order in Opava in the class of MgA. Lenka Švorcová and MgA. Lubica Divulitová, from 2022 she continued her studies at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava in the class of doc. MgA. Eva Dřízgová-Jirušová, Ph. D., with whom she is currently studying at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava. In 2017 and 2023, she actively participated in master classes with German tenor Jan Kobow and Anna Hlavenková focused on the interpretation of the romantic song repertoire. In 2022, at the invitation of Alena Hönigová, she premiered a rediscovered cycle of early romantic songs discovered in Switzerland by the Lobkowicz chaplain Johann Joseph Rösler. She presented the same programme at the May Music Festival (2023) and this year in Marienberg, Germany.
In 2015, she won 3rd place at the Prague Singer International Competition. In 2021 she won the International Antonín Dvořák Competition in Karlovy Vary in the Opera Hope category. She is a finalist of the International Mikuláš Schneider Trnava Competition in Trnava, she became a laureate and absolute winner of the International Singing Competition in Olomouc.
She made her debut at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in the 2022/2023 season in the role of Belinda in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and performed the role of the Shepherd in Wagner’s Tannhäuser. In the 2023/2024 season, she then appeared at the NDM in the role of Chocholka in Leoš Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen. In addition to singing, she has been acting since the age of five, playing the role of Eva Smržová in the film The Last Cyclist by Jiří Svoboda, the role of Sara Bergerová in the CT detective series The Head of the Medusa by Filip Renč, and in 2023 she appeared on TV Prima in the series The Laws of the Wolf by Marek Najbrt.
