The highlight of this year’s festival will be the performance of the SHF resident ensemble, Collegium 1704, with the exceptional bassist Luigi de Donato in the program Il Polifemo. The main role of the mythical giant will be heard in arias, recitatives and orchestral compositions by Vivaldi, Handel, Bononcini and Cesti – a musical portrait of a tragic and grotesque figure full of love, anger and tenderness. Václav Luks and his ensemble will create baroque music theatre with typical precision and dramatic power. The evening concert in Frýdek-Místek will offer the audience a top example of a stylishly refined and emotionally charged interpretation.
