Antonín Zimmermann: Concerto for two Bassoons and Orchestra in F major

Soloists Sergio Azzolini, an internationally renowned performer, and Ondřej Šindelář, a leading Czech bassoonist and specialist in historically authentic interpretation, will create a remarkable interpretation partnership. Their connection with the Risonanza Praga orchestra, led consistently along a stylistic line, will bring an authentic conception of this music – with an emphasis on the naturalness of phrasing, ornamentation and tone color. The program will offer not only the virtuosity and subtle humor of classical compositions, but above all a demonstration of the extraordinary sonic flexibility of the bassoon as a solo instrument – from brilliant runs to singing cantilena. The stylistic sophistication and distinctive dialogue of two top performers will revive the classicist elegance in the acoustically inspiring space of the Church of St. John of Nepomuk in Ostrava – Stará Bělá.
