The Heart of Europe concert performed by the Tiburtina Ensemble will take listeners into the spiritual world of medieval Prague. In the acoustics of the Church of St. John the Baptist in Hlučín, Gregorian chant and early polyphony from Prague’s capitular sources from the 11th–14th centuries will be heard. The repertoire, influenced by tradition and liturgical celebration, dates back to Aquitaine polyphony around 1100. The Tiburtina Ensemble, led by Barbora Kabátková, will captivate with its precise pronunciation and historically informed interpretation of compositions such as Veni, sancte Spiritus. The music, which defies medieval fashion trends, sounds like a lively dialogue of faith, space and memory – a tribute to Prague as the true spiritual center of Europe.
