His passion for musical innovation began during his studies at the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerp, where he studied clarinet under Walter Boeykens. Since then, he has built a richly varied career as a soloist, orchestra musician, and conductor. He has performed with renowned orchestras and ensembles such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Quatuor Enescu, Concerto Stella Matutina, Collegium 1704, Quatuor Danel, George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, deFilharmonie, Le Concert Olympique, Taraf de Haïdouks, I Solisti del Vento, Champ d’Action, and many others, bringing his musical vision to concert halls around the globe. These projects led to collaborations with Frank Braley, Christoph Prégardien, Vaclav Luks, Dirk Mommertz, Fredrik Renz, Josse De Pauw, Geraldine McGreevy, Sebastian Tewinkel, Philip Raskin, Graham Johnson, Mate Szucs, and many others.
In addition to Terra Nova Collective, Vlad also founded Trio Dor, an ensemble that weaves the rich folk traditions of Eastern European melodies into a contemporary musical fabric.
