Adam Plachetka is among the most sought-after bass-baritones on the European opera scene, and his return to the St. Wenceslas Music Festival promises an exceptional experience. In the intimate setting of the Vesmír Hall, he and pianist David Švec will create a close, personal atmosphere for two musical worlds – the spiritual depth of Dvořák’s Biblical Songs and the gripping dramatic energy of Mozart’s operas. In a single evening, Plachetka will embody iconic characters such as Figaro, the Count, Leporello, and Bartolo, demonstrating why his Mozart repertoire is highly acclaimed from the Vienna State Opera to New York’s Metropolitan Opera. The program blends inner spirituality with brilliant stage temperament – a unique portrait of a singer who can be both lyrically sensitive and theatrically vibrant.
