Programme

The Ukrainian male vocal ensemble Orpheus ranks among the most distinguished interpreters of Orthodox sacred music today. The eight singers, led by Ljubomyr Konchakivskyi, are characterised by a dark, richly coloured vocal timbre, profound spirituality and a perfectly balanced sound rooted in the finest traditions of Slavic church singing. In the acoustically welcoming Evangelical Church in Třinec, the ensemble will present a selection of works from the Orthodox repertoire – from humble prayers and harmonically rich chants to stirring grand hymns of the festive liturgy. Orpheus combines expressive solo artistry with a cohesive ensemble culture, creating a unique blend of vocal strength and intimate spiritual depth. The concert promises a profound encounter with music that carries within it hope, faith and the historical experience of contemporary Ukraine.
